What a match!
As Sreeshanth caughtthe ball, we all erupted!India won the world cup!!The feeling was terrific. I felt like I had won the cup and like I had actually taken part in the match.
I have never felt so ecstastic for a looong time. I felt like belonged.
I wonder, if this feeling of belonging if I settle abroad? If I live in the United States for 20 years will I start feeling like I belong there? I doubt it. Very much. When I say 'belonging' here, I do not mean belonging in terms of culture or way of life.I'm sure that I would adapt to any country's life style in a jiffy. I'm talking about the sense of joy, shame, sadness, excitement and the host of other emotions that I feel when I think of something an an Indian has accompalished.
I cannot imagine feeling this intensely for another country. I'm never going to feel this high when an American wins the Wimbelton.
